# ICP filter

Your ideal customer profile, and the optional filter that checks new leads against it.

Your ideal customer profile lives in **Settings → ICP** — it's configuration, not a daily screen, which is why it isn't in the main navigation.

## Where it comes from

When you sign up, FounderMCP looks your company up on the web and writes the profile in a few lines: **what you sell**, **who you sell to**, **who the buyer is** and **who doesn't buy**. The customers you named go along as examples. Read it, edit it or refresh it from the web (once an hour) — or write it yourself.

The agents read it to know you: the chat on Signals puts the likely department and job titles first, and the template agent writes for the buyer it describes.

## The ICP filter

Leads are **not** checked against your ICP by default. Turn the **ICP filter** on, right under the profile, to check every new lead's company and role against it: pick ICP 50+, 70+ or 85+, and leads that score lower no longer come in. It applies to **every signal at once**, because there is one profile. A lead we could not judge still comes in, and leads that are already in are not checked again.

With the filter on, the leads table shows an **ICP** column with each lead's score; with it off, the column is hidden.

## When to turn it on

Start without it: your signals already decide who becomes a lead. If a signal attracts the right crowd, keep the filter off and keep the volume; if it attracts noise, turn the filter on and let your profile do the filtering.

> The minimum used to sit on each signal separately. Since it judges one profile, it sits with that profile — one setting instead of one per signal.
